These kids are returning clients and I’m glad they are because they are beautiful! I enjoyed my time with them in the studio.
Little A wasn’t so sure about having his picture taken- well, he really didn’t want to at all, but he and his dad found a dead bee in the window sill and that did it for him! He loved looking at, and showing off, the bee.
Big A is gorgeous, as always, and loves to have her picture taken. She and I had fun trying several different ideas.
I had a good time today, photographing my first senior rep for the 2011 season. We did our indoor studio session and we hope to do an outside snow session as soon as we get some fresh snow- that should be sweet.

This session will be in my new studio that I’m so excited about! It’s a hip, urban setting, convenient to all of greater Grand Rapids. Here is a sample of the first 4 sessions I’ve done there in the last 2 weeks.
This was a very unique & special wedding. I will remember it for a long time. The bride and groom are 81- and 82-years old! (Although they are both a young 80.) Their story is a neat one- they corresponded by letters between California & Michigan and he flew out there this past fall to propose to her.
What made it so special, for one, was how the acted together- they just enjoy & cherish each other, you can tell. But, secondly, was their families. Almost all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were able to attend the wedding and they played an important part. I was so honored to capture this great legacy that this wonderful couple has built.
The families filled the role of pastor, musicians (many of them sang- it was beautiful, plus flute and piano), and every part of the wedding and reception. The reception had introductions of all the family members and how they belonged to the bride or groom. They also had a time of singing the families favorite songs-mostly hymns.
I didn’t really know what to expect from the day, but it was so much more special than I imagined! Thank you for letting me be a part of your family for the day and capturing some special moments. (There are many, many pictures of all the families, but I couldn’t narrow those down- you’ll see those later.) I will have the rest of your images edited soon!

The time spent with this couple was awesome! They are so sweet together and seem to cherish one another. We had a good time at my new studio, trying out many different things- I love adventurous clients! 
I’m looking forward to meeting this little baby and capturing his first days. Enjoy these images and I’ll have the rest up really soon.
I had such a blast with this family. They were really nice to be around and were easy to photograph (oh, the dogs weren’t too bad, either)! It’s always enjoyable when clients are willing to try new things and step outside the box a bit.
This is the first blog post featuring my new studio space. I’ve been getting to know it and I think it will work out really well. (Thanks to the B family for their patience while I worked with my lights as it was the first session in this space that I’ve used them.) For wintertime shooting, this urban space will give me some great options. A special shout-out, also, to my photographer friend, Chris, for his help, his great eye and posing help!

These girls are just a riot and I loved my time with them. Their dresses are beautiful and will make for a gorgeous Christmas portrait, but I would also love to get them outside, in their play clothes, to run and explore!!

Little H had quite the afternoon! Just like the baby yesterday, he did not want to have anything to do with sleeping. But, he was a champion at peeing and pooping!! LOL (We lost count after 3 times pooping and 2 times peeing…) Finally, after much patience, perseverance and nursing, he konked out and I think the results were worth the waiting and the work!
